00:55 Are diarrhea and leg cramps a common side effect of eating a Zero Carb diet? Also Magnesium, Sodium, Vitamin D and other supplements are discussed.
Why do you say stool is 90% bacteria by weight. It is actually 5-10% on average across diets. I am a human intestinal microbiota researcher focusing on studying FMT.
According to this study https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7359576 in 7 normal patients bacteria comprised 54% of the dry weight of the stool. Since I don’t eat any fiber I would think the percentage was much higher. I was told in med school 98% of the dry weight of stool was bacteria.
I really appreciate the time journaled show notes. While many issues are of interest, it is helpful to zoom in on specific topics.
I listen very closely so I am not convinced using video in the pods would add to the value of the information you are giving the listeners
Great job
